Queuing at Fringe Festival: Dealing With Boredom

We all hate queueing for things. Especially if we have to queue for a long time. And when you’re at an event as big as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, you can bet there will be some queuing. You can’t really avoid it, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. There are plenty of things you can do to take your mind off the fact that you’re one of many, just waiting in line.

When it comes to queueing at the Fringe, make sure you leave yourself enough time. Turn up at least 10 minutes before the show, queues start early and they get long very quickly. Keep in mind the distance between the shows you want to catch and make sure you aren’t rushing yourself, the last thing you want is to get across town a sweaty mess, to then stand in a queue for a short while and then watch a show in said sweaty clothes.

Perform

The best thing about the Fringe is that anyone can become a performer, so why not put on your own act in the queue? Might be a little out of your comfort zone and not the usual occurrence but why not give it a go? You’ll entertain yourself and those around you. Who knows you might discover a knack for it and want to go to next year’s Fringe as a performer.
