Spend a day here, but be prepared for lots of walking, the zoo is uphill so be warned! If you wish to see the pandas, book in advance

Located at Edinburgh’s Commonwealth pool. There’s free parking which is fantastic

Ocean Play at Ocean terminal

Parking is free and plentiful. The soft play is hard to resist, for kids and adults alike


Inverleith Park

Fabulous city park, boasting panoramic views of the city. Playing pitches, all-weather courts and swing park are just some of its attractions

The Meadows

A lovely leafy and green open space with a host of activities to keep everyone busy, from tennis courts to a pitch and putt golf course that’s free. Don’t forget your racket!

The Botanical Gardens

Our favourite place in Edinburgh. Very peaceful and well maintained. It’s a world-renowned scientific centre for the study of plants, with a café and more. It’s a great place to spend time with the kids
